Christian Hirte, born in May 1976 in Thuringia in Germany, is roman-catholic, married and has three children. He is attorney and specialist attorney on tax law, since 2008 member of the German Bundestag. In 1994 he achieved the Abitur at the Bad Salzungen State High School before he took his study of law at Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena from 1995 to 2001. 2001 to 2003 he absolved his legal clerkship and joined Muth & Partner as attorney in 2004. He gained his mandate for the German Bundestag in 2008, which he hold since then. From March 2018 until February 2020 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy and Commissioner for the new federal states and for small and medium-sized companies.

Christian Hirte looks back on a long standing political engagement. He joined the CDU in 1995 and became state chairman of CDU Thuringia in 2020.
